Hear what our guests have to say about the Melbourne city sights family tour….

My family and I – a cohort of six, including young children and grandparents – had an outstanding time on I Heart Melbourne’s “Family Friendly City Sights” tour.

Our guide was James, co-proprietor of I Heart Melbourne. Over the course of the four hour tour, James was warm, funny, insightful, and relatable to each member of our group. From sharing a parent’s perspective on bringing little ones around Melbourne, to donning his former city planner’s cap in commenting on the city’s architecture and history, to jokingly preparing to race the very comfortable tour van on Melbourne’s famed F1 circuit, James hit all the right notes with our group. He was super accommodating both to the temperament of our youngest one (two years old) as well as to the speed/pace of the older members of our group.

All in all, it was a completely tailored and unique experience. James was more than willing to answer any questions and to take diversions as our interests/questions emerged. Whereas most tours (especially non-private ones) are really just one way conversations, touring with James inspires real dialogue and camaraderie. By the end of the tour, we had all learned a lot about Melbourne and also felt like we made a local friend along the way. We can’t recommend I Heart Melbourne highly enough.

My family went on a private tour with James to The Great Ocean Road and a half day tour in Melbourne City. Both days were just fantastic. From the start, James was very responsive and it was pretty much smooth sail from there. We were blessed with good weather on both days. James was very entertaining and very informative. He was also very organised and the tour was well planned and thought out. I was very impressed with his knowledge of everything Aussie (even though he is British). The private tour was definitely the highlight of our trip to Melbourne. Highly recommended!
