Hear what our guests have to say about this tour:

I was drawn to book the tours by the great descriptions on the website and they were really spot on. James took us and our two children (ages 10 and 6) on two trips.

The first tour was down the Great Ocean Road, which could be boring for kids, but James had our two eating out of his hand very quickly!! The usual stunning sights were all covered, but it was the extras that made the difference – seeing wild kangaroos, koalas, kookaburras, a wander round the rainforest and some beach time. The other highlight was the comfy minivan so we could all snooze on the way back to Melbourne!

The second bespoke tour was down the Mornington Peninsula for wildlife and food. Unfortunately the dolphin sighting boat company cancelled at the last minute, but James had lots of alternatives suggestions and we had a superb day picking (and eating!) lots of strawberries, exploring the maze, fairy hunting, feeding kangaroos, cuddling koalas, going to a honey farm and the most amazing lunch.

During our Australia trip we’ve done a few other sightseeing coach trips (with 40+ on a bus) and these haven’t been a patch on those we went with James. The ability to plan the day around your wishes and being accompanied by James, who is so knowledgeable and friendly, is well worth paying that bit extra. My daughter says she’s coming back to Australia just to go on another trip with James!!

My family and I enjoyed our private tour of the GOR with James! It was a one day trip but we get to visit many interesting place along the GOR.

One of the highlights of our trip was when we get to see Koala colonies in the wild. It was so fun trying to spot the adorable Koalas hanging on the tall Gum Tree! That was a first for us. Another one of my personal favorite sites was the Loch Ard Gorge. The view was breathtaking! Lucky for us, we get to really enjoy the place since it was not crowded with tourists.

It’s really important to bring along someone who is very well versed with the place. James definitely knows his stuff. He was never short of fascinating stories to tell us. A friendly, informative and funny guy! He made the long journey felt shorter.

I’d so recommend I Heart Melbourne Tours to anyone looking for a private tour without ripping off your pocket. The trip was overall PERFECT!

My family went on a private tour with James to The Great Ocean Road and a half day tour in Melbourne City. Both days were just fantastic. From the start, James was very responsive and it was pretty much smooth sail from there. We were blessed with good weather on both days. James was very entertaining and very informative. He was also very organised and the tour was well planned and thought out. I was very impressed with his knowledge of everything Aussie (even though he is British). The private tour was definitely the highlight of our trip to Melbourne. Highly recommended!

James our guide was simply great. He helped made sure that we had a great time seeing the sights along the Great Ocean Road with a lot of history and knowledge. Loved the morning tea that was organized too! A very nice touch. The walk through the rain forest was probably the next favourite.

Everything was organized well and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Would recommend to anyone!

I would highly recommend I heart Melbourne tours. We went on a private tour to the Great Ocean Rd. almost a year ago now. James is a fantastic tour guide and our two kids who are both special needs kids loved him. We can’t wait to go on another tour when we come down to Melbourne next!

Had a flying visit to Melbourne from the UK to attend a friends party and had one spare day which we spent with James on the Great Ocean Road. This really is a bespoke tour and James is happy to amend the tour to your wishes, eg more time on the beach, long lunches etc. The Great Ocean Road is incredible and James is the perfect guide, easy to talk to, very knowledgeable but also lets you have a rest when you need it ( jet lagged). Highly recommended.

In April 2015, we visited Australia because we got a really cheap ticket to Melbourne from Hong Kong. Melbourne was almost an afterthought, as we were so infatuated with the idea of getting our intra-regional flight to Sydney. Thanks to James and I Heart Melbourne Tours, we gained a great appreciation of Melbourne all of its sophistication. We did a family friendly wine tour of the Yarra Valley; it was awesome. James took us to numerous great wineries. While my wife and I participated in the tastings James played with our two boys: cricket, soccer, etc. The next day, he took us on a tour of the Great Ocean Road. We got to see the 12 Apostles, kangaroos, koalas, and all kinds of native Aussie critters. James was super knowledgeable and very flexible. If we go back to Melbourne James and I Heart Melbourne will be my first call.
